Residential Garage Project:

L-Shaped Pole Barn | Connected Spaces for Storage & Work

Rubicon, Wisconsin

Project Overview:

Designed for a rural property in Rubicon, this L-shaped pole barn brings together large-scale storage and a dedicated workshop into one cohesive layout. By combining two structures into a single footprint, the building creates natural separation between uses while maintaining convenient access throughout.

From vehicle storage to hands-on work and outdoor relaxation, the layout supports a wide range of activities, making it a versatile addition to the property that adapts to both daily needs and weekend use.

The Building:

This custom project features a 30′ x 60′ x 14′ primary garage connected to a 36′ x 54′ x 10′ workshop, forming an efficient L-shaped layout. The main structure provides ample space for storing vehicles, recreational equipment, and larger items, while the attached workshop offers a more controlled environment for projects and year-round use.

Finished with JWS steel panels, the building combines a bronze roof, beige sidewalls, and ivory trim for a cohesive, neutral exterior. Architectural elements like the turkey tail overhang, framed in western red cedar, and dual cupolas add character while maintaining durability and performance.

A standard porch extends from the workshop area, creating a covered outdoor space that connects the building to the surrounding property.
