Location: Kohlsville, Wisconsin
Year Built: 2009
Nestled among hills and ponds of Washington County, Wisconsin is the tiny hamlet of Kohlsville. This area was settled in the 1840 and these settlers expressed loyalty, honor, devotion to work and willingness to help one another. One of the many hardships they endured was fire destruction. When a fire broke out, everything was lost, and neighbors helped each other to recover.
On August 1, 1908, The Kohlsville Volunteer Fire Department was incorporated. Today, Kohlsville is still home to a thriving volunteer Fire Department. Many of the family names on the original charter are still active volunteers on the Fire Departments as the service to community has been passed down among the generations.
One hundred years after the founding of the Kohlsville Fire Department, Walters Buildings proudly helped to construct their new Fire Station in 2009. The building features seven overhead doors, a public meeting room, kitchen, bathrooms and a loft for additional storage.
