Walters Buildings was proud to partner with the good folks at the Humane Society of Oldham County for the design and construction of their new building. This was a turnkey project with the entire building measuring 72' x 72' x 10' with our Tan and Black Steel Panels.
Situated on a hill over looking Commerce Parkway, the exterior of the building welcomes you with a sign directing you to the animal clinic or humane society office.
The animal clinic provides veterinarian services such as spay/neuter with a triage room and full operating room.
The humane society office is the central hub for animal adoptions. The main entrance features their "Tree of Life" to thank donors as well as windows on both sides so that both cat rooms overlook the people coming and going. Next to the adoption center is an intake room with its own HVAC system to ensure that animals are kept in isolation until they are ready to mix with the rest of the population.
The dog room has an in-floor drain for easy cleaning and access to a fenced in dog run to get exercise in the backyard. The entire interior floor has a no-slip epoxy floor cover that also provides for easy cleaning.
